MEMP Seminar

Speaker Bio: I-Sah Hsieh's job is to find innovative ways to use SAS Analytics for social good. Partnering with amazing non-profits to answer questions like: What health conditions are most prevalent amongst 300,000 displaced people in the Philippines? Can social media chatter predict unemployment spikes? Or why are migrants are using smugglers? How can we sift through 330 million rows of data in under 5 seconds to tell the UN where to source roofing materials for 46,000 families after the Nepal earthquake? How many people will be impacted by these 25 temporary power stations in Puerto Rico? He also helps steer SAS' corporate social innovation strategy in #DataForGood efforts, finding interesting projects for a small army of analytic volunteers to work on. SAS launched GatherIQ, a free mobile app that crowdsources answers for nonprofit organizations. Now ANYONE can come alongside an important cause to help! He believes that if everyone uses their skills and resources to help just one life at a time, we can all make a big difference.
