Long time dynamics for two dimensional water waves

The water wave equations describe the motion of the free surface of a fluid (e.g. water) under the action of various physical forces. Understanding the long time properties of water wave flows is a very interesting yet also very challenging class of problems. The talk will provide an overview of recent and ongoing work in this direction.
