IDEATE: A Virtual Designathon
IDEATE: A Design Thinking & Innovation Conference is a HackDuke event whose objective is to teach students the importance of design and design-thinking in an evolving tech/business world. Our hope is that this conference will inspire students from all backgrounds to incorporate design thinking as part of their innovation process and to use it as a tool in their tech and business-related endeavors. As Duke's annual student design conference, we're here to show you how design isn't just about drawing or Adobe software: it enhances technology by creating intuitive and meaningful experiences, it draws on psychology to understand end-users, and it creates successful businesses by driving human-centered development of product solutions.
We'll be bringing exciting speakers and designers to lead workshops and give talks. There will also be a design challenge to use the skills they learned from the workshops directly, and to explore the many interdisciplinary ways design changes our lives. Just as engineers have done with computer science and hackathons, we're looking to bring design to a broader audience.
You do not need any previous design experience to attend-anyone who is interested is welcome! Have questions? Email us at hackers@hackduke.org
