At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

* Understand the utility of p53 and p16 immunostaining in diagnosing precursors to vulvar squamous cell carcinoma

* Recognize newly defined precursors to vulvar squamous cell carcinoma

* Avoid non-neoplastic pitfalls in the diagnosis of these newly defined precursors, including recognition of more common vulvar dermatoses such as lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, and lichen simplex chronicus
