Using Data to Advise K-12 Public School Systems during the Pandemic

Join us for this webinar to learn how The ABC Science Collaborative, coordinated by the Duke School of Medicine and the Duke Clinical Research Institute, pairs scientists and physicians with school and community leaders to help them understand the most current and relevant data about COVID-19 so they may make decisions that will keep teachers, staff, and children safe, if and when they return to the classroom.

Kanecia Zimmerman, MD, and Danny Benjamin, MD, co-chairs of the ABC Science Collaborative, are the featured speakers. Panelists include Nakia Hardy, PHD, Deputy Superintendent, Durham Public Schools; Cathy Moore, Superintendent, Wake County Public School System; Amy Fowler, MD, Orange County Commissioner; and Stanley Litow, NYC Education Sector Advisory Council member and Accenture Visiting Professor of the Practice, Sanford School of Public Policy. Leslie Babinski, PhD, director of the Center for Child and Family Policy, will moderate.

The ABC Science Collaborative works with school leaders to share and highlight existing data from state and local health departments, provide new data as it becomes available, help school communities understand existing and new data so that they may practically apply it in their own unique school communities, and provide opportunities to participate in COVID-19 research that may prepare a better future for our children.
