Getting (The Most) Out of Graduate School Part 1

Graduate school can be daunting, but it's possible to not just survive but to thrive! The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Office for Diversity and Inclusion in Engineering are hosting a two-part workshop geared towards STEM PhD students.

Location: The Bolton Family Tower Room, Brodhead Center

Part 1: Practical Steps to Completing Your Dissertation; 9:00am - 11:30am
In Part I, you'll learn practical steps to writing your dissertation. This is valuable for a range of students interested in managing their time and interactions with their advisors, even if they have not begun writing.

Part 2: The Unwritten Rules of Graduate School; 12:30pm - 2:00pm
In Part II, Dr. Carter-Veale will discuss the unwritten rules of graduate school. This workshop is designed to help graduate students avoid the pitfalls of breaking these implicit rules. The workshop is especially important for students who are women and members of underrepresented groups because these rules are not always explicit, obvious or familiar.
