Master of Engineering Management Seminar: Cary Strickland, MEMP '12

Mr. Strickland is a member of the RTI Innovation Advisors team, specializing in technology scouting, landscaping and evaluation, market opportunity analysis, and technology-inspired ideation. In each project, he leverages his technical expertise, business acumen, and creativity to provide rigorous analysis of new technologies and markets. He has worked extensively in the consumer products industry, helping product development teams find the right partners, evaluate technology options, or evaluate their competition in both developed and emerging markets. Beyond consumer products, he has conducted projects in the areas of infrastructure and construction, industrial coatings and chemicals, additive manufacturing, automation, food, and packaging. In addition, he has helped small and large companies, universities, and multiple National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) research labs evaluate market opportunities linked to existing products or new ideas. His international experience includes work in-country in Japan, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines. Within the RTI Innovation Advisors, Mr. Strickland leads the Insights for Innovation team, a group charged with ensuring excellence in secondary and primary research, and use of structured frameworks for turning information into insights, knowledge, and action. He holds a Master of Engineering Management degree from Duke University and dual B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Paper Science Engineering from NCSU.
