CEE Seminar: A Multiscale Approach to Nanoparticles in the Environment "practice job talk"
Sponsor(s): Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE)
The already huge number and diversity of nanomaterials in commercial and industrial applications is growing at a dizzying pace. The development of tools to examine these materials has also revealed the importance of naturally occurring nanoscale materials in environmental processes. In order to gain a more complete understanding of their behavior, I examine the behavior of nanoscale materials in complex environments on several scales, ranging from molecular simulations, to laboratory examinations of surface affinity, and ecosystem level experiments and modeling. I will conclude with a framework for my proposed future work along with initial examples.
