Rebecca Kuzemchak (AB '13) is a New York based visual artist whose work explores the history and politics of language and labor. During her Ruby Friday talk, Kuzemchak will discuss her experiences making art at Duke (where her mentors included Bill Fick, Pedro Lasch, and Bill Seaman), in an MFA program, and as a professional balancing art with a non-art career. She'll also address the crucial question of why-why make art; why are you doing this?-and how her answer has evolved over time.
This talk coincides with Kuzemchak's show Babel, on view at the Brown Gallery in the Bryan Center in the latter part of February.
