How do we conceive and write modern history? What assumptions do modern historians make? Everyone knows the work of the German historian Leopold von Ranke. But there were others who at the same time were sketching out ways to conceive the new discipline of history. Join Károly Halmost (ELTE, Budapest) in a discussion of the famous Hungarian historian, Julius Szekfu, who set out to create a new "historical-political" approach to the discipline of history.
