The Natural History of Birds

hummingbird in Duke Gardens
Wednesday, November 04, 2020
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Let's talk about birds-from hummingbirds to ostriches, and from life patterns to ecosystem services with avid birder and Deja Perkins, a wildlife and fisheries biologist with an M.S. from North Carolina State University's College of Natural Resources. Birds occupy every continent and every type of habitat with roughly 10,000 species. What do we know about these beautiful creatures? Join us to explore birds, including what makes a bird, migration patterns, mating systems, nesting strategies and identification. You will have the opportunity to learn and then apply your knowledge in several assignments that send you out on a Bird Quest!

This is a four-session class meeting each Wednesday from 7-8 PM through December 2. Please register in advance to receive your Zoom link for the program via email: https://rsvp.duke.edu/d/6hqvkd/
