Dan Ariely, James B. Duke Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics

Dan Ariely, James B. Duke Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics, spent much of last year advising the Israeli government on its COVID-19 response and conducting research to answer behavioral questions related to the pandemic.

Why didn't instructions like "don't leave home" work? Why do we believe some behaviors are safer than they truly are? What are the "sweet spots" in virtual educational environments? What are the challenges caused by disinformation?

Join Jewish Life at Duke to hear about Professor Ariely's experience in Israel, through the lens of behavioral economics.
