A Conversation with Professor Junko Takeda (Professor of History, Syracuse University)

Join us as Prof. Takeda talks about assumptions and attitudes that AAPI scholars, and women of color in general, face in academia. Returning to her alma mater (via Zoom) Prof. Takeda will describe her own experiences as an Asian American woman working in the field of early modern French History, and also as a first-generation college student and formerly undocumented immigrant.
Following Prof. Takeda's talk we will have a general conversation about the experience of being a scholar of color in different academic fields. We encourage everyone to attend and share their own experiences or perspectives.
