Director Series

Meet Katherine "Katie" C. Luber, Ph.D., a fifth-generation Texan who was born in Fort Worth. After many years in the northeast, she returned to Texas in 2011 to become the Kelso Director at the San Antonio Museum of Art. During her tenure, the museum has tripled membership, doubled annual attendance and established relationships with underserved K-12 schools. Before coming to San Antonio, Katie worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where she curated several exhibitions, notably Recognizing van Eyck, named Best Exhibition of 1998 by Artforum magazine. She earned art history degrees from Yale University, the University of Texas at Austin and Bryn Mawr College, and an M.B.A. from John Hopkins University. She won a Fulbright Fellowship to Austria, and published the book, Albrecht Dürer and the Venetian Renaissance, in 2005.

Reception and cash bar to follow.
