Naturalist Classes: Rocks (ages 7-9)
Look down! We'll examine rocks closely to see what they can reveal about the past and observe ways that humans use them today. Find fossils, compare textures and colors, build structures and more. Join other homeschool students at Duke Gardens in a small group setting with classes designed to maximize exploration in nature. Discover diverse living things and the ways they interact with the environments that sustain them. Investigate with all senses, play games, experiment, create through crafts and more! Each class focuses on a different interdisciplinary topic. Details for each program - Section A: children ages 5-6 from 10:30-11:30a a.m.; adult chaperone required. Section B: Children ages 7-9 at 10:30-noon. Meet in the Doris Duke Center. Parking fees apply. Information/registration: 919-668-1707 or gardenseducation@duke.edu
