A2K in the Age of Apple, Google, and Microsoft: South Africa's Vulnerability and Promise

Government leaders responsible for basic education are moving towards mass adoption of digital technology as the primary means for providing educational resources. But government lacks a vision of education that makes use of the opportunities presented by the internet. This myopia in a global environment in which Apple, Google, and Microsoft are intent on re-inventing educational resources risks ceding further control of the future of educational resources to private actors in the global North.
