Sharing Data: Frontline Experiences from Duke Researchers
Stakeholders across academia are increasingly discussing the value of making research data publicly available. In response to this dialogue, Duke faculty members and research support units have spearheaded initiatives to enhance accessibility to data. This event will include a panel of Duke researchers as they discuss how they are engaged with sharing and archiving research data. Whether you have been asked to share your own research data by a funder or journal publisher, you would like to keep an official record of the data generated by your project or lab, you support the research enterprise, or you are just interested in the topic of data sharing - join us as we explore the mechanics, platforms, benefits, and challenges of sharing and archiving research data. Panelists include - Patrick Charbonneau, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Physics, Doug Boyer, Associate Professor of Evolutionary Anthropology, and Ana Barros, Edmund T. Pratt, Jr. School Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
