Psychiatry Grand Rounds Honored Professors: Perinatal Psychiatry / 'Teaching' Social Determinants of Health
Sponsored by the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation Lectureship. Marla F. Wald MD is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Division of Pediatric Psychiatry, and specializes in Perinatal Psychiatry. She is a clinician educator who treats patients, supervises and teaches medical students, residents, fellows in a variety of settings. After receiving her medical degree from the Faculty Libre de Medecine, Lille, France, she completed her psychiatric residency at NYU Medical Center, NYC, and her Child and Adolescent Fellowship at GWU/Children's National Medical Center, Washington DC. Concurrent with her residency and fellowship, she also completed psychoanalytic training at the Baltimore- Washington Institute for Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Feigal is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, and the combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry residency program a Duke University Medical School. He is board certified in internal medicine and psychiatry, and his current position is shared between Duke and the Lincoln Community Health Center in Durham. At Duke he sees psychiatric patients in the Duke Cancer Institute, and in the Electroconvulsive Therapy Clinic. At Lincoln, he serves as Clinical Director of the Healthcare for the Homeless Clinic, and is a provider in the Medication Assisted Treatment program, serving patients with Opioid Use Disorder.
