Neil Eggleston on the Role of White House Counsel in Turbulent Times

Come hear former White House Counsel Neil Eggleston discuss the foundational importance of the rule of law in the American political system and the role of the White House Counsel's office in safeguarding it. Professor Eggleston served as Counsel to President Barack Obama from May 2014 to January 2017. As the President's chief lawyer, Professor Eggleston advised the President on all legal and Constitutional issues across a broad spectrum of domestic and foreign policy matters. These matters include significant litigation, the defense of congressional investigations, the judicial selection and nomination process, government ethics, and clemency. Professor Eggleston is currently a partner at Kirkland & Ellis and previously was a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton. Lunch with be served.
