Join Tina Post from the Department of English at the University of Chicago who will discuss Jennifer Kidwell.

Slippery in their embodiments and affects, yet consistent in their collaborative cross-racial praxis, Jennifer Kidwell's works seem to forever court controversy by asking, "Whose line is it anyway?" The question is multi-faceted, and, as asked by Kidwell, generatively earnest. Who determines the borders of acceptability around issues of race and embodiment? Whose turn is it to speak? And above all, how should we decide?

Jennifer Kidwell and her Pig Iron Theatre Company collaborators are currently in residence at Duke University, where they are developing their new work, "A Hard Time," as part of the 2019-2020 Visiting Artist Residency Series presented by Theater Studies.
