Patrick Jagoda (University of Chicago): "Disorientation: Parasitical Knowledge and Transmedia Storytelling"

This talk explores the parasite: an Alternate Reality Games (ARGs) developed by a design team at the University of Chicago to augment the orientation for the class of approximately 1,750 incoming undergraduate students.

Avery Slater (University of Toronto): "Post-Automation Poetics"

The purpose of this talk is to think the future of artificial intelligence with respect to literary form. One long-standing threshold of achievement pursued by computer scientists in the field of in natural language processing is the automatic generation of poetic texts comparable to human-generated poetry.
