The Nasher Museum presents a major nationwide touring exhibition that offers a new perspective on the critical contribution that artists of African descent have made to the evolution of abstract art from 1940s to the present. Solidary & Solitary: The Joyner/Giuffrida Collection is the first large-scale public exhibition to bring together a lineage of visionary black artists.

7 PM Haiku in the Galleries: Join us in the exhibition "Solidary & Solitary: The Joyner/Giuffrida Collection" with five haiku poets of the Carolina African American Writers' Collective, who will read from the new book of haiku poetry they co-authored, "One Window's Light" (2017, Unicorn Press) and also read haiku poetry in response to works of art on view.
