Bass-baritone Jake Gardner is one of the opera world's most sought-after singing actors. Having sung a decade as principal baritone with Oper der Stadt Köln under the baton of James Conlon, his long and distinguished career has included performances with such notable companies as Wiener Volksopera, Dresden's Semper Oper, Glyndebourne Festival, De Nederlandse Opera, and the Edinburgh Festival, as well as Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Washington National Opera, New York City Opera, and Florida Grand Opera, as well as a host of excellent American regional companies. Recognized as a "lyrico spinto, Puccini girl through and through," American soprano Jill Gardner has received critical acclaim for her many portrayals of the leading ladies of the verismo repertoire as well as contemporary heroines. With over 50 performances of her signature role of Tosca, Ms. Gardner has appeared with such notable companies as Lyric Opera of Chicago, Washington National Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Arizona Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Carolina, Michigan Opera Theater and Hawai'i Opera Theater. Jake and Jill Gardner are co-founders of "A Singing Actor's Studio" and have taught master classes as well as performance workshops for Arizona Opera, Anchorage Opera, Eugene Opera, Hawai'i Opera Theater and Michigan Opera Theater. This master class is free and open to the public.
