Theology Underground: The Political Theology of Octavia Butler
Theology Underground is a series of guided conversations about how culture, identity, and race impact the way we live out our faith and beliefs. To honor the 100th anniversary of the birth of the literary giant James Baldwin, this year's series will engage the intersections of theology and black literature.
The topic for this meeting is "God is Change: The Political Theology of Octavia Butler." J. Sterrett, the Chapel's intern for intercultural engagement and Religious Life, leads the discussion with special guest Rev. Dr. Chelsea Brooke Yarborough, associate director for leadership and programming at the Association of Theological Schools.
To receive a free dinner, RSVP to the Rev. Racquel Gill at racquel.gill@duke.edu. See the schedule for the year: https://chapel.duke.edu/theologyunderground .
