Sari Nusseibeh is a philosophy professor and former president of Al-Quds University in Palestine. He has also been intermittently involved in politics, serving as an activist during the First Intifada, participating in dialogue initiatives with Israelis, and engaging in early negotiations between the two sides in Washington. During this time, he co-authored No Trumpets, No Drums: A Two-State Solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict with his Israeli colleague, Mark Heller. A Palestinian Jerusalemite, Nusseibeh has lived in Jerusalem both before and after earning degrees abroad at Oxford and Harvard.
