Cosmology Seminar- The cosmic saga: From COSMOS-Web Mass Maps to the Realms of UCMGs
Astrophysics and cosmology have entered an era of rich datasets from both ground- and space-based observations. This advancement enables compelling studies of galaxy evolution using techniques such as weak gravitational lensing (WL) and spectroscopy.
On one side, we leverage the JWST's crystal-clear vision and its cutting-edge instrument, NIRCam, to study both dark and visible matter distributions in the COSMOS-Web field using WL. Striking WL mass maps from the JWST COSMOS can reveal compelling evidence of the complex interplay between baryonic and dark matter distributions.
On the other side, we utilize ground-based telescope data and spectroscopy to investigate the environments of Ultra-Compact Massive Galaxies (UCMGs), aiming to enhance our understanding of their formation and evolution of these objects.
