Autos - Duke English Graduate Student Conference

Duke English Students "Auto" Conference
Thursday, February 13, 2025
All Day

We'd like to welcome you to the 2nd annual Duke English Graduate Student Conference!

The topic for this year is "auto," and we have assembled a stellar group 16 scholars from Duke and our peer institutions across the country to present their work-which spans across theoretical, disciplinary, geographical, and temporal boundaries-on the concept of the self, articulating its aesthetic, historical, political, and ontological valences. Tyrone S. Palmer (Wesleyan), whose research interests include Black critical thought, affect theory, poetics, and negativity, will deliver the keynote address at 4 p.m. on Thursday in Allen 314.

We hope for this event to be both intellectually and communally stimulating-and, just as importantly, we hope to see you in attendance! A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Please reach out to Britt Edelen (britton.edelen@duke.edu) or Savannah Marciezyk (savannah.marciezyk@duke.edu) with any questions.
