Genomic Instability and Tumorigenesis: Confounding Roles of Essential Genes

Dr. Zhiyuan Shen received a PhD degree in Cell and Molecular Radiation Biology from Colorado State University in 1993. He is currently a professor and the division chief of Radiation Cancer Biology in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and the Associate Director for Basic Research at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. Dr. Shen's research focuses on the mechanisms by which genomic instability is provoked to drive tumorigenesis, using animal models and cell and molecular biology approaches.
