Regulation of synapse development by small GTPase networks

Salvatore J. Cherra III, University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Neuroscience
Our lab focuses on signaling mechanisms that coordinate the development and function of the nervous system. We use C. elegans to investigate three inter-related questions: Which genes coordinate the assembly of presynaptic terminals during development? How do non-neuronal cells modulate synaptic connections? How do disease-associated genes influence neuronal development?
