Duke Service-Learning STEM + Community Engagement: Pedagogy and Practice

STEM fields are significant in their role to our local, national, and global communities. In this series of presentations, we will hear from a variety of STEM Faculty about the work that they do in their service-learning and community-engaged courses. The series will culminate with an in-person "lunch and learn" with an expert in the field, Dr. William Oakes. With the exception of the lunch, this series is virtual. Please register at the link.

Our goals include:

• Raise the visibility of Duke's (inter)disciplinary course models and community partnerships
• Share Duke faculty scholarship
• Explore the transformative learning potential of different CE models and approaches
• Provide a professional networking opportunity for faculty and staff interested in CE pedagogies

We look forward to sharing practices and learning from you!

___________

We extend our gratitude to Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, Duke's Office of Faculty Advancement, Pratt School of Engineering, and Duke Learning Innovation & Lifetime Education for their generous support in making this event possible.
