Ange Mlinko is the author of seven poetry collections, most recently Distant Mandate (FSG, 2017) and Venice (FSG, 2022). Her newest collection, Foxglovewise, will be published in early 2025. Her poems are celebrated for their intense and playful musicality, formal poise, and gleeful absorption of vast vocabularies and fields of reference. She is the author of the book Difficult Ornaments: Florida and the Poets (OUP, 2024), a study of the influence of the Floridian landscape on the work of several important midcentury poets, and has reviewed contemporary poetry rigorously for publications including Poetry, the New York Review of Books, and the Nation. She has won the Randall Jarrell Award in Criticism, the Frederick Bock Prize, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Mlinko is a Professor of Poetry at the University of Florida, where she also edits the literary journal Subtropics.
