Kwan Yi: Piano Masterclass

Kwan Yi has performed as a soloist with major orchestras such as the Russian National Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, the Brevard Festival Orchestra, and the North Carolina Symphony, under the baton of esteemed conductors like Hans Graf, Julian Kuerti, and Mikhail Tartanikov. He is also a passionate chamber musician, having collaborated with celebrated artists including Itzhak Perlman, Miriam Fried, and Roberto Díaz. His performances have been featured at renowned festivals such as Ravinia, Kronberg, Trondheim, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and on series including Carnegie Hall Presents and Curtis Presents.

Educated at some of the world's leading music institutions-the Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School, and the Peabody Institute-Yi studied under legendary pedagogues Leon Fleisher and Robert McDonald. His deep musical knowledge, coupled with his eloquent and insightful teaching style, makes him an exceptional mentor and communicator.

During the masterclass, selected student pianists will receive one-on-one coaching in front of a live audience, offering a behind-the-scenes look into the artistic process. Yi will explore topics such as musical interpretation, stylistic nuance, technique, and performance psychology.
