13th Annual Duke-UNC Sickle Cell Disease Conference
The Duke University School of Nursing and UNC School of Medicine Blood Research Center are pleased to announce the 13th Annual Duke-UNC Sickle Cell Disease Conference, Thriving with Sickle Cell Disease, A Life Span Approach, taking place September 12-13, 2025, at the Duke University School of Nursing.
Health care professionals, trainees, researchers, individuals with sickle cell and caregivers, and other members of the sickle cell community are welcome to attend.
Day 1 - September 12, 2025: The conference will focus on updates in SCD therapies, transitioning from pediatric to adult care, and caring for older adults with SCD.
Day 2 - September 13, 2025: The conference will focus on symptom management, advocacy, and a collaborative workgroup to identify clinical, research, and legislative priorities for SCD in North Carolina.
Audience: Health care professionals, trainees, researchers, people with SCD and caregivers, and community-based organizations.
