Bearing Witness: Genocide, Silence, and Responsibility in Sudan
This roundtable discussion examines the ongoing catastrophe in Sudan by posing urgent questions: What is happening on the ground? Who are the key armed groups and political leaders? What ambitions are driving the violence? The conversation will explore how civilians have become the primary victims of internal power rivalries and regional and international interference, resulting in mass displacement, famine, and atrocities that many observers describe as genocidal. Bringing together three scholars and activists, the roundtable will address the global silence surrounding Sudan, consider pathways for humanitarian and civic engagement, and reflect on what responsibility, and meaningful action, might entail moving forward.
