Photobook Dummies Meetup: What Is a Photobook?

You're invited to CDS for the February meetup of Photobook Dummies, a monthly, in‑person gathering of local photobook collectors, creators, and enthusiasts.

What is a photobook?

This month will be a hands‑on, curiosity‑driven gathering for anyone interested in seeing photobooks as more than containers for images. Together, we'll examine and discuss photobooks as objects, exhibitions, and experiments, considering sequence, design, materiality, and how meaning unfolds across pages.

This meetup compliments "Bound/Unbound: From Page to Wall," the exhibition currently on view at CDS and a collaboration between the CDS Continuing Education Program and Photobook Dummies. Exhibiting artists will be in attendance, bringing their finished books as well as materials from the creative process that led to them, offering insight into how photographic projects move from concept to publication.
