MEMS Seminar: Dr. Alexander Grosberg, "Coulomb Interactions Without Charges"
Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science (MEMS), Fall 2025 Speaker Series welcomes Dr. Alexander Grosberg, Professor of Physics at New York University, to give the talk, "Coulomb Interactions Without Charges."
ABSTRACT: Dr. Alexander Grosberg will review the concept of diffusiophoresis and how it leads in out-of-equilibrium driven colloidal catalytic systems to the effects usually associated with electrostatics, such as Debye screening and Wigner crystals.
BIO: ALEXANDER GROSBERG was born and educated in Moscow, in the former Soviet Union. A Professor of Physics and Mathematics at New York University, he is a theoretical physicist working in the fields of soft matter, polymers, and biophysics.
Host: Michael Rubinstein
