Are you interested in auditioning for the Department of Theater Studies Spring Mainstage production of "Rent," co-produced by Hoof 'n' Horn -- but not quite sure how? Fear not! You are welcome to take part in one or all of four upcoming workshops about this groundbreaking show by Jonathan Larson, marking its 30th anniversary in 2023.

Each workshop focuses on a different theme, such as acting and its history, the use of music in the theater, and movement, as well as their specific storytelling elements in "Rent." The last of the workshops will be an Open House. Broadway actor and Professor of the Practice Chauntee' Schuler Irving will lead these workshops and direct the mainstage production in April 2023.

Auditions for the cast will be held Friday and Saturday,
October 28-29, with callbacks Saturday and Sunday, October 29-30. But why not take advantage of these fun and low-key workshops ahead of time?See more information about the auditions (for both the cast and band) at our co-producer's site, https://www.hoofnhorn.org/copy-of-rent-audition-info.
