Neurobiology Faculty Candidate Talk: Danique Jeurissen: The neural basis of cognitive flexibility in primates

Sponsor(s): Neurobiology
One of the major challenges in systems neuroscience is to understand how neurons in one area can specifically communicate information to a subset of neurons in another area, and how the flow of information between areas can change. I approach this problem in two ways. First, I study humans and monkeys to understand how different sources of sensory information (e.g. motion and color) can flow to areas involved in making decisions. Second, I study monkeys to understand how the flow of information between areas can change in response to a focal lesion.
