Sunday Morning Worship Service
Sunday, June 23, 2024
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Rev Rachel Billups, Pastor, New Albany United Methodist Church, New Albany, Ohio
University Worship

Join us in worship that offers stirring preaching, inspiring sacred music, and faithful prayer. Held year-round amid the beautiful, soaring architecture of Duke Chapel, this interdenominational Christian service is characterized by vibrant faith, intellectual depth, diverse cultural expressions, and a welcoming community.

To attend a service, navigate to 125 Science Drive, Durham, NC. Parking is available at that address in the Bryan Center Garage with ADA parking in the adjacent surface lot. Parking in the garage is free on Sunday until 2:00 p.m. when using the standard ticket issued upon entering the garage. Regular attenders of the service are encouraged to receive a pass for free parking on Sunday mornings at the visitor desk inside the Chapel.

The Chapel's preacher this week will be the Rev. Rachel Billups. Rachel is a visionary, leader, speaker and author. Currently she serves as pastor at New Albany United Methodist Church. She previously served as Senior Pastor at Ginghamsburg Church multi-campus ministry in Tipp City/Dayton Ohio. Rachel draws on her love of people and passion to explore new venues for ministry and mission.

Rachel is an ordained Elder within the United Methodist Church and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Bible/Religion and History from Anderson University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Duke Divinity School.

Most days you can find Rachel reaching out - praying online, hosting Open Table gatherings in her home or enjoying moments with husband Jon and their four loves: Adeline, Christopher, David and Sarah. She also might be cheering for those Duke Blue Devils and The OSU Buckeyes.

Rachel is a popular speaker for national gatherings and has recently authored BE BOLD: finding your fierce as well as co-authoring Down to Earth: Hopes and Fears of all the Year Are Met in Thee Tonight and Sent: Delivering the Gift of Hope at Christmas - all published by Abingdon Press. You can find her on social media at: @rlbillups.

Services are streamed live on YouTube and broadcast live on channel 12 of the Duke Hospital TV system and on the radio on 620 AM WDNC.
