Workshop: Cinema Lighting Techique
Sponsor(s): Cinematic Arts
A practical introduction to the manipulation of the characteristics of light, in order to modify, recreate, or invent light of any kind. We consider angle, intensity, color, softness, and falloff as interacting but separately manipulable parameters. We look at the implications and opportunities in the additive nature of light, and the manipulations involved in achieving common goals of lighting, such as the control of exposure, contrast, and modeling. Lastly, we make a run at the application of these parameters and controls for naturalistic, motivated, heightened, abstract, and stylized work.
