Chinese Music Ensemble

The Duke Chinese Music Ensemble, directed by Jennifer Chang, presents a concert featuring a variety of Chinese musical styles and instruments, as well as pieces that mix Eastern and Western instruments. Instruments include guzheng, paiban, erhu, ruan, piano, violin, and others.

Featuring special guest Xiao-Fen Min, an acclaimed pipa artist, called "one of the world's greatest virtuosos..." by NPR's Weekend Edition. Classically trained in her native China, Min was an in-demand interpreter of traditional music before relocating to the United States and forging a new path for her instrument alongside many of the leading lights in modern jazz, free improvisation, experimental and contemporary classical music.

Free Admission.
