Adult Forum: "Bread for the Journey: Why Reading Matters (and What Books Can Do) for Kingdom Living"

Adult Forum
Sunday, January 14, 2024
9:45 am - 10:45 am
Byron Borger, owner of Hearts & Minds, an independent bookstore in Dallastown, PA

Most here surely know the value of books and the importance of the reading life, but we'll enjoy being reminded of why reading matters as a formative spiritual practice, exploring what it means to see reading as an act of worship, shaping contemporary discipleship, resourcing missional contextualization and deepening of community. As a small-town bookseller for over 40 years, our speaker will share thoughts about our increasingly digital context, with insights from popular-level theology, social critics, and stories of his day-to-day vocation and calling.

With a variety of guest speakers, the Adult Forum offers presentations and discussions on a wide range of topics. The thought-provoking topics include Biblical studies, current social issues, and the work of mission agencies. All presentations are open to the public.
