Joshua Redman Group featuring Gabrielle Cavassa "where are we" Tour
11-time Grammy nominated saxophonist and composer Joshua Redman is one of today's foremost contemporary jazz artists. Raised in a musical home, Redman released his first record in 1993, and now with more than 20 albums as a leader and sideman under his belt, his prolific career shows no signs of slowing down.
Redman joins the Duke Arts Presents season this spring in support of one of his most compelling albums to date, where are we, a musical journey across the United States of America. It is an album of both standards and new work all around a common theme - each song is about, or makes reference to, a specific geographical location in the USA: Bruce Springsteen's 'Streets of Philadelphia,' Count Basie's 'Going To Chicago,' Rodgers & Hart's 'Manhattan,' John Coltrane's 'Alabama,' and more.
For this special concert, Redman will be joined by the dynamic young singer Gabrielle Cavassa and a band of rising star talent.
