Unity through Diversity (UTD): Center for Multicultural Affairs' 50th Anniversary Celebration
On Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 6-8pm in Penn Pavilion, the Center for Multicultural Affairs (affectionately known as the CMA by its connecting communities) will be celebrating 50 years of existence at Duke University with our annual Unity Through Diversity (UTD) celebration event. This particular UTD celebration represents a significant milestone in the Center's history, as our office's history is intimately connected to a long legacy of resistance, support, and advocacy for marginalized racial and ethnic communities at Duke University. This 50- year marker also signifies the impactful dreaming space that the Center is leaning into this season as it begins to reimagine and redefine its goals, visions, and hopes for the future. Thus, the theme for our annual program this year is "We were there, and now we are here": Redefining Our Center, to speak to the multitude of experiences and feelings that our communities are sifting through at this time.
