Negotiating Physician Employment Agreements

The Office of Physician-Scientist Development (OPSD) chooses professional development workshop topics to aid physician-scientists in their career development. Anyone interested in the topic may attend the seminars.

This program will focus on the key legal issues and contractual terms that physicians will likely encounter when reviewing and negotiating a physician employment agreement. Examples include compensation terms, malpractice coverage, term and termination provisions, and non-compete clauses and other post-termination covenants. This program will also address practical strategies for negotiating employment agreements with group practices, hospitals, and other employers.
