Our spring concert features modern pieces that thoroughly explore American themes, using music to reflect on the disparate experiences that, together, define our history and culture. Join us to experience this through a line of music, which includes performances of Duke professor Anthony Kelley's Spirituals of Liberation (premiered for Juneteenth 2022 by the NC Symphony), Gershwin's classic American in Paris, and much more.

Free admission, all are welcome.

On the program:
Spirituals of Liberation, Anthony Kelley
Can't You Line 'Em, William Grant Still
Of Our New Day Begun, Omar Thomas
Umoja, Valerie Coleman
An American in Paris, George Gershwin

Artistry. Wellness. Passion. Community. These values unite the members of the Durham Medical Orchestra, which draws together health-related professionals, medical and graduate students of the life sciences, and community members. Under the leadership of Conductor and Artistic Director Verena Mösenbichler-Bryant, our performances offer the benefits of music to broad audiences around the Triangle.
