Gender Studies Then presents Narrating A Field: How Gender Studies Came to Be
Sponsor(s): Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies
To ask, how did Gender Studies come to be? we might also ask, how do we already
narrate the formation of this field?
GSF presents a dynamic conversation between two authors critical to reflections on Women's & Gender Studies as a field: Clare Hemmings (London School of Economics; author of Why Stories Matter: The Political Grammar of Feminist Theory) and Robyn Wiegman (Duke University; Object Lessons). Following the dialogue between Professors Hemmings and Wiegman will be in conversation with the audience.
