Duke Initiatives in Theology and the Arts hosts its fall concert, Cries of Loss and Hope: Marking a Difficult Season in Music and Word. Directed by Professor Jeremy Begbie of Duke Divinity School, the concert will feature the New Caritas Orchestra and the Raleigh Music Collective. The evening will create a space to lament the hardships of the present and voice hope for the future through word and song. Inspired by biblical cries of sorrow and celebration, the program will include a diverse repertoire, ranging from Purcell to Latinx, Baroque to jazz, and ancient poetry to contemporary film.
Tickets start at $10, and all proceeds go to organizations working with refugees in NC.
