Merideth Addicott, PhD (Wake Forest University)
CABC Seminar Series

Dr. Addicott's lab studies how drugs, primarily nicotine, affect mood, behavior, and neural function. They use behavioral tasks, smart phone apps, and functional magnetic resonance imaging to study these interactions. In particular, they investigate how individual differences in daily stress levels and distress tolerance can help or hurt a smoking quit attempt. Other projects include the acute and chronic effects of drugs on reward-based decision making. Dr, Addicott is interested in understanding how drugs that affect dopamine signaling influence effort-based decisions, and how this may relate to psychiatric symptoms.
