Mapping the Rules of Glioblastoma using Single Cell and Spatial Genomics
Dr. Bayraktar uses single cell and spatial genomics technologies to characterize human brain cellular diversity in health and disease. During his training, Omer discovered neural stem cell patterning mechanisms and astrocyte layer diversity in the cerebral cortex. His team has developed the cell2location computational tool to map fine cell types in spatial transcriptomics. Currently, Bayraktar lab is focused on studying the molecular, cellular and spatial organization of glioblastoma (GBM), where we use single cell and spatial genomics to identify cell-intrinsic and tumor microenvironment derived cures regulating malignancy.
